Try these dishes at one of my favorite bang-for-the-buck restaurants, @lugangcafe ❤ Super yummy Three Cup Squid, clams in steamed custard, this killer Napa cabbage with sliced pork, and finally a bowl of what I want to call "Sukigang" - the Taiwanese love child of sukiyaki and sinigang: thinly cut beef belly in a miso and preserved vegetable soup! All quite good! CHECK IT!

Fernando Afable of Foto Baryo
On the left is Fernando Afable of Tanauan, Batangas - founder of #FotoBaryo(on the right), a center for photography that he built up behind his brother's dental office. Once darkroom manager of the International Center For Photography in NYC, he collected all the equipment, books and gear they were going to dispose of and slowly shipped it home in the hopes that he could pass on his passion for it to those who can't afford it. It's my wish that all this really takes off. He's the kind of person I wish we had more of. 🎉 Hats off to you always, Fernando!

Alpabasa
This is my friend Tisha Gonzalez-Cruz. She's developed a way of teaching Filipino called #Alpabasa .. Right now she's using her material to train teachers to use the system, one that will help public school students transition to English easily as well. I believe her work is essential for us and for the betterment of our future -- and she goes about it all quietly and without fanfare. She is quite the inspiration! This classroom, the first of many, was made into a bright and cheery space where the students can enjoy learning through a few humble pledges for her #AdoptATeacher program. Think about that when you make your next fund raising activity! 😁 It goes without saying - we need more people like her. CHECK IT. ❤🤘🏼🇵🇭
